About the Mike Estep Band

After having become a stalwart on the Syracuse singer/songwriter scene in the late 1990s, Mike Estep recorded a group of songs that eventually became his first release, "One Lane Bridge." He gathered a group of friends and family to perform his songs at the CD release party in May of 1998, and The Mike Estep Band was born. Often referred to as "MEB," the band has been lucky to flourish through the years with very few personnel changes. Steve Orlando and Jeff Favalo were founding members of the group with Mike, and Paul Opel joined just a year later in 1999. Guitarist Tim Herron signed on in 2009 after Jeff left the group to concentrate on family and fatherhood, then Tom Reed took over the guitar-slinger spot in 2014.

The Mike Estep Band catalog includes four releases: "One Lane Bridge" (1998), "This Machine" (2000), "Next In Line" (2002) and "From The Vault" (2007).

The band regularly performs across Central New York at venues and special events including the Jamesville Balloonfest, Taste of Syracuse, and more. One of the band's most memorable moments came in 2002, when they were invited to play on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
